Weekly Bulletin: Staying connected as a church - 30 April 2023
Kia ora St John’s whānau,
Jesus claims to be the ‘Good Shepherd’ who lays down his life for his sheep (that’s us by the way).
His promise is that “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
We celebrate the presence of the risen Christ with us – the One who guides us forward on our journey.
We are back in the school term, and so peer groups recommence on Sunday with young people going out with their leaders part-way through the service.
If you can’t gather in the city, and you want to join the worship service via Zoom, here are the details to access the live-stream:

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT...
VISION
Our recent workshop to generate new Vision initiatives was very successful! Thank you to those who participated in pursuing our Vision:
We explore and share the gospel with our dynamic neighbourhood. We create safe spaces to be, to belong, and to navigate the tough stuff. Getting to know God is a team sport – that’s why we do this together, not alone.
We want to prioritise initiatives that:
Explore and share the Gospel
Make us recognisable as a Church community in the city
Emphasise love, fun and friendliness
Encourage inclusion, belonging and participation
There are some tremendous ideas that the Project Teams are planning, and these will be shared with everyone soon so that you can get involved!
BAPTISM AND CONFIRMATION DISCUSSIONS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
We are again offering the Baptism and Confirmation Conversations for young people – these happen after the Sunday services, starting Sunday 30th April. Light lunch will be provided. If you would like to take part in this, please let our Youth and Families Pastor, Hannah North know h.north@stjohnsinthecity.org.nz
"Can I be baptised again, even though I've been baptised when I was a baby?", "Why should I be baptised?", "Can I be baptised on the beach?"
(If you are older and interested in Baptism, please contact Rev Allister)
