New Volunteer Youth Intern at St John’s in the City
We are thankful for God’s guidance, to both Jemma and the leaders at St John’s in the City, in hearing God’s call to commit to a Youth Internship.
Jemma is well-known and liked by many, and we are delighted to see God at work in her life in many ways. We want to support Jemma in exploring her interest in youth ministry. Jemma becomes a St John’s ‘Youth Intern’ along with Grace Webster, working closely with our Youth Pastor, Ino – and the volunteer leaders. She will be learning about youth ministry and supporting the wider ministry as part of our Ministry Team.
Given the current awareness of how Interns can be exploited by churches, we offer assurance that St John’s is committed to the well-being of our Interns. We have made mutual commitments for the internship that include clarity about remuneration, professional supervision, Code of Ethics, how to escalate concerns, and the availability of a formal complaints process.
With prayer by Ino, our Youth Pastor, Jemma was commissioned a Youth Intern in the Sunday service on 5th June 2022, where she was offered all support, as she offered herself and the gifts God has given her to help lead our shared ministry.
