Weekly Bulletin: Staying connected as a church - 12 June 2022
Kia ora St John’s whānau,
This Sunday is Trinity Sunday – and we celebrate the God who we know as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as we share in the community of God.
If you want to read the Bible readings before Sunday, they are: John 16:12-15 and Romans 5:1-5
And if you want to hear a weekly Rev’s Ramble on the Bible readings, click here. https://www.facebook.com/KhandallahPresbyterianChurch
We will celebrate Communion, and so St J’s Kids and Youth Group peer groups start at 10am in the St John’s Centre – and we will come together as one whanau for Communion at 10:45am.
After worship, we have a shared lunch, so please bring some food to share.
And then we have a congregational discussion about the Vision (details below)

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT
ST JOHN’S VISION
In recent months the St John’s Session elders have felt moved to articulate a fresh Vision for St John’s. And we are sharing this with you all, inviting you to help us progress this into something that reforms, restores and rebuilds us as a Church.
Over the last few weeks we have had an introduction of the Vision framework and some preliminary discussions. And now a summary of the Vision is available to read here:
As the Vision has been developed in discussion, the language of the Vision Statement has changed, but the intent remains the same:
“We explore and share the gospel with our dynamic neighbourhood. We create safe spaces to be, to belong, and to navigate the tough stuff. Getting to know God is a team sport – that’s why we do this together, not alone.”
You are invited to a discussion about the Vision with the whole St John’s Church whānau this Sunday, after the morning service and shared lunch (please bring some food to share!)
BEING A CONNECTED COMMUNITY DURING COVID-IN-THE-COMMUNITY
Some of us are having to isolate because we or someone in our household tests positive for COVID-19. If you are in this situation and find you need help (e.g. food or supplies dropped off), please let us know through the St John’s in the City Office. We are able to help one another.
Even if we have to physically isolate, we want to stay connected as a faith community. To help us, we have Online Devotions every Thursday at 11am.
Please join with others for fifteen minutes of spiritual reflection together.
The link to join via Zoom is below.

We need members of the Congregation to help by opening the Church for 3-hour periods while the work is on display. Please let David Galt know if you can help: david@galt.net.nz or 022 0321143.
