OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT

YOUTH PASTOR CHANGE

Ino Pasullean has been the St John’s Youth Pastor for three and a half years, and he has made the decision to step down as Youth Pastor at the end of this term.
He feels this is the right time for him to move on to his next challenge and to where God is leading him. We give thanks for his ministry in this important way and grateful that Ino will help us in the transition to new leadership for our youth ministry.

ART INSTALLATION AT ST JOHN'S:
LUMINARY

The artwork ‘Luminary’ is being installed today, and will be able to be viewed from this Sunday.
I’ve been imagining it hanging in the main church space, but the artist loves the intimate and ambient space of the Chapel. So you will be able to appreciate the artwork fully with the best light and proximity of the Chapel.
It is able to be viewed all week. Opening Hours: 10am to 4 pm (except Sundays start at 1pm)
Please diary to come and see it and tell others to visit too. We have pamphlets explaining the work and our own St John’s artworks. You can also bring food or cash donations for DCM in return for a Lumen print by Karen Sewell, the artist behind Luminary, which will raise funds for DCM in its help for Wellington’s homeless.
This is just one of the projects St John’s will launch to showcase St John’s and its work to the wider community as well as showing a fascinating art work as we implement our new vision of reaching out to our community.
Cost: Free St John’s in the City Church, Corner Willis St & Dixon St, Wellington.

WHĀNAU NIGHT AT HOME – 5PM- 7PM, SUNDAY 21 AUGUST

You are invited to join with our St John’s whānau in homes throughout the city on the evening of the 21 August.
Just like in June, the evening centres around a meal, then we all engage in an intergenerational faith experience, and then we all dial in via Zoom at the end of the evening and report back how we got on. Many people have let us know that when we meet in homes the event is more relational, and so we are excited to offer this way of gathering again.
To aid with the hosts’ planning, there is a requirement to register to attend this month. The meal is potluck, so after you register you will be contacted by your host and asked to bring either a main course or a dessert to the evening.
Please fill in this registration form by 5pm on Wed 17 June. You will then receive an email on Thurs 18 August giving you information on how to attend and what to bring.

PANTRY RAID

St J's Kids (Sunday School) would LOVE you to sign up to be part of our annual food collection event for DCM (aka The Pantry Raid) on Saturday 27 August from 3pm.
This is where the children from St J's Kids come to your house to collect grocery items for the foodbank.
To sign up please click on this link and fill out the form: https://forms.gle/C1CAK1LUnUvf1oad9
As part of the church reaching out initiative it'd be great to involve your neighbours by asking them to donate items too. This link will take you to a poster you can email or print and share with your neighbours.
